I am not required to align with other independents or be loyal to political parties as my focus is on representing the people in the electorate where I reside.
She stated that as a self governing member she is answerable only to her constituents. Milthorpe stated that the strength of community independents lay in their lack of focus on party politics.

Ley assumed the role of deputy opposition leader after the Morrison government s loss in the 2022 election.
She took over from Josh Frydenberg who was defeated by Monique Ryan supported by Voices of Kooyong.
In August it was disclosed that she has been removed from Parliament 11 times after the 2022 election but Ley stood up for herself and the Liberal Party s performance in Parliament as passion.
Ley has been in office since 2001 and secured victory in the 2022 election with over a 30 per cent lead even though there was a decrease in support for her.
I aim to have the residents of Farrer believe that I embody their beliefs understand their concerns and have faith in my commitment to resolving problems.
