Biden is thinking about imposing long lasting restrictions on asylum. People familiar with the plans said the administration is considering policy adjustments that would make it almost impossible to remove the temporary asylum restrictions put in place by President Biden in June which aim to block most asylum claims at the southern border.
According to that directive the limitations would be removed provided that the daily number of individuals attempting to cross unlawfully fell below 1 500 for a period of seven days.
Currently the government aims to ensure that border crossings stay minimal for multiple consecutive weeks a move that would greatly decrease the likelihood of the restrictions being lifted in the near future.
Authorities reported that a 14 year old student shot and killed two students and two teachers and wounded at least nine others in a Georgia high school hallway today.
The most deadly incident of school violence in Georgia s history occurred at Apalachee High School in Winder approximately 50 miles from downtown Atlanta.
Here is the most recent information we have. Students in the school recounted a chaotic situation once they realized the lockdown was not a drill.
As gunshots echoed they sought refuge in classrooms and frightened students reached out to their parents.
The students are trained for these tasks one student remarked. However I immediately began to shed tears.
Officials stated that the suspect gave up and is now detained after being confronted by law enforcement.
He will face murder charges as an adult. President Biden described the shooting as yet another terrible example of how gun violence is still causing chaos in our communities.
